Summary

Heavy mineral buildup can slow down even the largest commercial water heaters. This 100-gallon unit needed a full internal clean-out to remove accumulated sediment and restore safe operation.

The Work

Drained and disassembled the 100-gallon tank for a complete internal clean-out
Removed layers of calcium, lime, and sediment from the tank bottom and internal surfaces
Flushed the tank until water ran clear and inspected key components for wear or damage
Reassembled, refilled, purged air, relit the burner, and checked for leaks and proper operation

The Outcome

With the internal buildup cleared away, the water heater now runs more efficiently and safely. Regular maintenance like this helps extend equipment life and keeps hot water ready for daily commercial needs.
